Future

SINNISSIPPI FARM & FOREST IS GROWING!

We are pleased to announce our commitment to growth for the future. Since 2011, we have planted over 16,000 trees. We have recently purchased additional land along our entrance on Lowden Road. We plan to plant an additional 20,000 trees over the next several years.

Our long range plan projects multiple plush fields of trees, maturing on rotation, so that each Christmas season, residents of the region will be able to select from a wide offering of Choose & Cut and Premium Fresh Cut Christmas trees for years to come.

Nurturing our future trees and future farmers

Sinnissippi Farm and Forest is very grateful for the professional and dedicated service of long-time forester Dave Stenger. Dave's vast experience was an invaluable contribution to our tree operation. He guided our past, present and future. His watchful and skillful eye trained many of our next generation tree growers.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MEGAN BUTTENS!

STATE FFA PROFICIENCY WINNER IN FOREST MANAGEMENT AND PRODUCTS

Megan is a member of the Oregon FFA Chapter of the Illinois Association FFA. Illinois FFA recognized students in fifty different areas based on their work-based learning, also known as Supervised Agricultural Experiences of SAE. FFA members who demonstrate outstanding agricultural skills and competencies through record keeping, leadership, and scholastic achievement may be considered for this award. SAE’s allow students to learn by doing; either owning and operating an agricultural business, working or serving an internship at an agriculture-based business or conducting an agriculture-based scientific experiment and reporting results.

Megan was selected as the State Winner by a committee of agriculture teachers knowledgeable in this work-based area. Receiving this honor made Megan eligible to complete in the National FFA awards Selection in July 2020. Megan was previously chosen as the Chapter Section and District Awardee.
